One of the most common questions we get is: "How do you actually know a certificate is real?" Here's the honest, technical answer.
Step 1: A Record Is Created
When a candidate completes an assessment, audit, or training program, their details — name, certificate type, issue date, and expiry date — are entered into our certification database along with a Unique Certificate Number (e.g. HSEL-2024-00187).
Step 2: A Verification Link Is Generated
That Unique Number automatically becomes part of a dedicated verification URL, something like hselead.com/verify.html?id=HSEL-2024-00187. This link always pulls live data — it's never a static snapshot.
Step 3: A QR Code Is Created
The verification link is encoded into a scannable QR code and attached to the certificate. Scan it with any phone camera, and it opens directly to that certificate's live status.
Step 4: Status Is Calculated in Real Time
Every time someone looks up a certificate, the system compares today's date to the recorded expiry date. If the certificate is still within its valid period, the page shows "Valid." Once the expiry date passes, it automatically switches to "Expired — Not Valid" — no manual update required.
Step 5: Sharing Made Simple
From the verification page, the record can be shared via Email or WhatsApp in one click — useful for candidates sending proof to employers, or auditors confirming a contractor's credentials on-site.
