ISO 9001:2015 – Module – III : Essential Elements Of Quality Management System
This module focuses on three critical elements that contribute to the effectiveness of a QMS.
Learning Outcomes:
This module aims to provide a deeper understanding of the practical application of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, focusing on organizational knowledge, internal auditing, and management review.
Organization Knowledge:
This refers to the knowledge necessary for the operation of the organization’s processes. It can include knowledge gained from experience, training, and other sources. Organizations need to identify, capture, store, and maintain this knowledge to ensure it is available when needed. Example: A manufacturing company might document the best practices for operating a particular machine, based on the experience of its most skilled operators.
Internal Auditing:
Internal audits are conducted by the organization itself to evaluate the effectiveness of its QMS. They provide an independent assessment of whether the QMS is being implemented as planned and whether it is achieving its intended results. Audits involve reviewing documentation, interviewing employees, and observing processes.
Management Review:
This is a formal review of the QMS conducted by top management. It provides an opportunity to assess the performance of the QMS, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that the QMS remains suitable, adequate, and effective. Inputs to management review include the results of internal audits, customer feedback, and performance data.
Lesson Summary:
This section summarizes the importance of these three elements in driving continual improvement and ensuring the long-term success of the QMS. It highlights how they work together to create a robust and effective system.
